IIT is a dream of many but only few really fulfill it. Nearly a million students appear for mere 11289 seats approx. in over 17 colleges across India. Students start their preparation early and join filthy expensive coaching classes to fulfill their IIT-JEE admission dream.

There are plethora of institutes like Allen, FIITJEE, Aakash to name a few, that guarantee admission to IIT, if the students join their classes and pay up few lakh rupees as fees. Students of middle-class and upper middle class are able to afford the same but many deserving students belonging to lower middle class or poor family often miss out admission to IIT due to lack of funds.

Now there is a good news for those who can’t afford to attend these expensive coaching classes. Ministry for Human Resource Development (MHRD) has taken this into cognisance and has tried to make this a level playing game and open opportunity for all aspiring students, by making available video lectures for all subjects by IIT professors themselves.

The program is called The IIT- Professor Assisted Learning (PAL). The IIT-Professor Assisted Learning (PAL) video lectures for Class XI and Class XII can be accessed on YouTube through the links shown below. Many faculty members from various IITs have contributed to these lectures.

Prof. Ravi Soni from the Dept. of Physics, IIT Delhi is the national coordinator and IIT Delhi has coordinated this entire effort with funding from MHRD. Over 600 hours of lectures in Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology are available for students.

With easy access to big screen mobile and almost free internet any student can access these videos for free and realize his dreams without burning a hole in his/her parents pocket. The only requisite is hard work and determination.
