Robots equipped with Artificial Intelligence are turning into humanoid and are becoming smarter day by day. After threatening jobs of waiters in restaurants in Budapest, now these humanoids are after hotel staff jobs.
These humanoid can be seen in China’s Alibaba Group Holding Ltd’s futuristic “FlyZoo Hotel”. These black disc-shaped robots are about a meter in height and deliver food as well as drop off fresh towels.
Alibaba itself says that they are part of a suite of high-tech tools that drastically cuts the hotel’s cost of human labor and eliminates the need for guests to interact with other people.
Flyzoo Hotel is a 290-room futuristic place which acts as an incubator for technology. Alibaba wants to sell to the hotel industry in the future and an opportunity to showcase its prowess in artificial intelligence.
Watch the video below to have glimpse of what this hotel or technology hub is:
Now, the AI technology at work will totally change the perception as to how we see and use hotels once you read through the rest of details.
Check-in
Softly out white panelled walls will bring memory of Hollywood spaceships. Guests can check-in with scan of their faces as well as passports or other approved ID.
Another astonishing fetaure for visitors is that they can scan their faces using their smartphones to check in ahead of time, but this limited to a Chinese National only.
Elevator & Room Access
Your floor access is given to you by the Elevator again with a face scan and your room doors can only be opened with your face scan, yet again.
Now this is an added safety as doors will open only to their occupants
Room service
For room service and features like changing the temperature of room, closing the curtains, adjusting the lighting Alibaba’s voice command technology will be used.

Restaurant
At the hotel’s restaurant, guests are delivered food by a capsule-shaped robots which they have ordered via the FlyZoo app.
At a separate bar, a large robotic arm can mix more than 20 different types of cocktails. Facial recognition cameras add charges to the room rate automatically.
Check out
To check out, guests have to press a button on the Flyzoo app after which the room locks automatically and they are charged through Alibaba’s online wallet. Once this is done, the guests’ facial scan data is immediately erased from Alibaba’s systems. No human interference at all in the process.
Although the Flyzoo hotel will employ few human employees like cleaner, chefs and receptionist who will assist guests in check-in process especially those who do not want their face to be scanned, but all in all the hotel concept is being called celebrating ‘THE EMPTY’.
We say that AI technology is replacing humans from serving humans.
