We all have heard of drones and their uses. Companies are busy innovating trying new means to put this cheap flight technology to use, but even before that a Latvian firm Aerones has come up with tethered drones which are way ahead and is being put to uses never heard before.
The drone built by Latvian firm Aerones, which specializes in heavy-duty unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). These are a powerful craft that has up to 36 propellors and can lift as much as 100 kilograms.
These UAVs are being put to such exemplary uses, which were not possible earlier, but when you see the below videos you will be awestruck.
Here are just a glimpse of uses which this craft can be put to use
- De-icing wind turbine
- Firefighting
- Cleaning hire rise building
- Delivering cargos in unreachable places
- Saving lives
- Industrial cleaning and many more, potential is unlimited.
Watch the drones cleaning wind turbine with ease. Normal cleaning by climbers costs around $5,000 and by drones it cost $1,000, which is a huge saving.
If snow and ice build-up on a turbine’s blades, it slows the rate at which they produce power and can even bring it to a complete halt. Using a drone for de-icing is both quicker and safer than sending humans up using a cherry picker.

Aerones has been making them for years and says they have a range of potential uses. Aerones CEO Janis Putrams said the company was still in the process of raising funding to get its system fully commercialized, but the team were “getting much more requests than we can fulfill.”
It’s a very promising tech that can not only save huge costs to companies but also save human lives in ways not imagined before.
