Google is always innovating and coming up with user friendly features one after another. You think of a feature and Google has it.
Now, Google is making some impressive updates to its visual translation tech feature from Google Translate and incorporating it into Lens. Now what exactly this feature will do will be immensely useful for travelers who go places. You just have to take a photo of a sign in a foreign language and it will translate it into your native or chosen language.

It has its own share of drawback as all the foreign text is not converted to English, maybe due to lack of clear image or more text than desired. Still it did a fair job and in case of clear image, I am sure it will be near to accurate.
If you have been attentive enough then you must have noted a version of this work already visible inside the Google Translate app as well as inside the camera option of Android phones. If you have missed it then, just open your Android phone camera and see the following options.
Now with the latest demo comes new functionality. You can tap on “listen” button and the Google Lens will read aloud the text to you in the translated language preferred by you and in addition highlight which word it’s reading, so you can be sure if the meaning and don’t miss a word.

To begin with its testing, India being the preferred choice for the simple reason of being the most multilingual and multicultural country in the World. The Google Lens team is working to make the technology lightweight enough, so that it can run on even not so smart phones. As per Google the size of tech is just 100 kilobytes. For the time being it’s not available.
No specific time or promises are being made as to its release time but yes, be prepared to be surprised as this is Google!.
