Earlier this week, a blog post from a Korean blog Naver reported that Apple’s iPad mini Pro is in the works. And could soon going to hatch in the latter half of this year. The sketchy report took the whole tech world by storm; however, it seems quite a bit uncertain as it stated altogether contradictory points as compared to Apple’s trusted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and Macotakara.
May 2020 iPad mini Report
In May of 2020, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo detailed that Apple would roll out an iPad mini in first half of 2021, but there were not any updates from Cupertino-based Tech Company as of now.
According to the Kuo, the new model will feature screen size between 8.5 inches and 9. At that point, Kuo did not provide any details about the specs of upcoming iPad mini rather saying that the two points would be the selling propositions: the comparatively reasonable price and the introduction of fast chips.
Later, in the beginning of 2021, Macotakara revealed that iPad Pro mini could see the eyes of the day in January, but it didn’t. Moreover, this report also stipulated some of the salient features of iPad mini Pro.
Macotakara’s iPad mini Pro
Macotakara’s report claimed that the iPad little will hold bezels on the top and bottom with a home button and Touch ID, in addition to Lightning availability at the bottom.
Numerous individuals have been approaching Apple to deliver an advanced rendition of the iPad mini, with the equivalent almost bezel-less design that we have seen on the iPad Pro and iPad Air 4. In this way, Apple fans could also experience Facial ID feature or carry Touch ID with the power button with the most anticipated iPad mini.
Concept: iPad Pro Mini
There has been a passionate discussion and speculation about the Apple’s IPad mini Pro since last year. The new iPad Pro mini’s concept designs have been rendered by Svetapple.sk. Here is a brief render below:
iPad Mini 6th Generation – Design
Apple has been least concerned about the designs of its products since the very beginning. If we take a look at the current fifth generation of iPad Pro, we could notice very minor modifications in its design since the first one in 2012. So, there were many directions the new iPad could lead to – in terms of its design and other features. It can either imitate the 4th generation iPad Air; featuring an 8.9-inch display and a design very similar to the iPad Pro. This includes flat edges and larger 8.8 inches display. Or it could also align with the iPad Air 3rd version – round edges but still a larger display i.e., 8.4 inches. Either ways, you only need to stick to a data transfer app for all your transfer needs – in case you’re planning to switch to this new iPad mini Pro model.
The iPad mini Pro could incorporate diagonal of the Liquid Retina display with a resolution of 2360×1640 pixels is 8.9-inch and the display unit has 500 nits, TrueTone function and P3 color spectrum support. It is most expected to have slim bezels around the display, flat edges, Face ID, and USB-C power connectivity at the bottom.
The iPad mini phone can be available with 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage + LTE version in the near future. The USB-C port will replace the classic Lightning and will charge the phone quick than ever. Finally, we also counted on the support of the Apple Pencil 2nd generation, and phone owners could find it to the side edge of the device.
Summing Up
Previously there were also some rumors that suggested that a 12.9-inch iPad Pro would come up in the first quarter of 2021. However, the supporters of the former opinion were more in numbers. Since we have not got any physical evidence in the form of pictures, specification details etc., we cannot confirm anything other than accepting what the reliable sources have reported so far.
What do you think of the new concept for the 8.9-inch iPad mini Pro? Is it a yay or nay for you?
